First, demand that the doctors abide by their Hippocratic oath (first, do no harm). Depakote and lithium are almost worse than the disease. I KNOW! The mood swings can be next to impossible to prevent. For myself, I prefer to control the worst with sedatives as needed. The mood swings are part of who I am. For me, lack of sleep is a definite tell so that I can use some lorazepam to sleep off the worst of the mood swing. You need a cooperative doctor who will help you as a person instead of just another crazy. Sorry.

Great story. I just want to say, sativa is just a species/strain of cannabis. It has THC unless it's been bred out, which we call hemp. Without THC, there isn't really a noticeable effect beyond a slight calming feeling from CBD and similar compounds. There are no drug fueled sex parties without THC. As for strains, Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica are like arabica coffee versus robusta coffee. Both have caffeine, but they're different, closely related plants with different amounts of caffeine. Both indica and sativa have THC. Most popular cannabis strains today are hybrids of indica and sativa. Again, great story, but it really took me out of the story for a minute seeing that misunderstanding.

Anyway, of course, I wish you had inserted a bit more about Melbourne in your story. Well, I was laughing throughout the whole thing. I think it was slightly too dramatic to take seriously. Like being in status epilepticus for some unknown time in front of her daughter, that cant be controlled until examined at the er and given multiple drugs...and she lived to vent her urine and feces another day. So, they tried lorazepam, phenobarbitol, and valproate, but had to give up, intubate her and then give her propofol, the anesthetic that killed Michael Jackson, ketamine, and lidocaine in order to stop her hysteria. And they topped it off with xenon and nitrous oxide. Damn.
When I read this paratrooper will kill you, I don't think being serious was ever the intent. What's next, are you going to put on your robe and wizard hat?
But the ending and the use of a human choice and not a damn plot device to get to it was good. The length of conflict wasn't unnecessarily long. So, the best way to reconcile this with reality is that this is a joke.

Thanks for reading and commenting on my story. It’s been a while since I posted which is why I joined the 750 word challenge. I have several other stories close to completion which I hope to get up this year. Probably not in loving wives, more likely novels/novellas as they are lengthy tales.
The 750 word story is a difficult beast to tame especially when it moves through several scenes like this one. Too many words get ‘wasted’ on description. My first draft was 1100 words. Obviously it means there are places where you have to read between the lines to get gist of what’s going on.
Great to see Harry from VA back. Re timeline Harry, most CBD bars I've been to empty out pretty quickly on Friday afternoon. Many close their doors for the weekend at 8 on Friday night. I did have a sentence spelling that out but it didn't survive the edit process.
