Actual: I initially took Pristiq and then had to switch to Effexor in order to taper, because Pristiq is even more impossible to safely taper than Effexor, because it only comes in extended release and in impossibly high doses. I spent two whole years searching for a way out of Pristiq before I found I could switch to Effexor!!

Pristiq and Effexor are essentially the same meds, Pristiq(desvenlafaxine) is the active metabolite of Effexor(venlafaxine). I am guessing you were switched immediately from Effexor to Pristiq and that's why you didn't feel any withdrawals. you don't get withdrawals when immediately swapping SSRI/SNRIs especially not when switching between two meds that are almost the same.
