Dang, those impulsive characters they'll do it every time; go off on a tangent without any warning. Loved your story. It's' now on my favorites list. It's been 13 years; I hope you're well, still writing and getting comment alerts. 5 stars of course. Oh, I give you a pass on your Espanol.

Anonymous (Espanol): Thank you for noticing this! You are absolutely right! It's a bit of a mystery why Gillian didn't get more information out of being brought to the doctor about her condition before. Women can have very different results from going to different doctors about a less-known condition like vaginismus, but the reason also has to do with Gillian and the people who brought her to the doctor (and their motives in enabling her to have sex) - more in Part 4. Hopefully it will make more sense then. Thank you for thinking about it so much!

Anonymous (Espanol): Part 2 - you're absolutely right about the dialogue, too. Part of it is a conscious choice. I enjoyed the subtle fencing between the two intelligent characters, at first, too. As Gillian relaxes, though, she becomes less controlled and less guarded in her speech, and Greg adjusts along with her - which is partly what I'm trying to show with the more relaxed dialogue. They are people growing more comfortable and trusting with each other - so they don't have to show off and simultaneously protect themselves with clever banter as much. At least, that was what I was going for.
For a continual high level of rapier wit to seem credible between two people, I think it would have to be a different story - maybe two people kept apart (for whatever reasons) and the dialogue needed to be the only fun and intimacy of the relationship... and I might have to write that story, someday!

I am going out on a limb in guessing, by your statement you have little knowledge of the Mother Tongue tree or its numerous branches of the world to say the least. Google Translate gave me standard Spanish from Spain.

*In Spain, there are at least 5, yeah five various dialects of Spanish spoken, and that Castilian Spanish is considered the proper Spanish, meaning the King's language. I learned this years ago from a family member that is Spanish and was raised in Spain. *There are also numerous versions of British English (mi esposo es ingliteria) spoken not only in America, but around the world: American English (New Jersey vs. Southern Calif.) and Colonial English (The Caribbean Islands).
*In Latin America, which has way more dialects of Spanish spoken than its land of origin (keep in mind the various countries of Central and South America... like did you know cinco (#5) in Argentina is pronounced thinco? Or that Guatemala's Spanish word for gay (homosexual) is translated to Lazy in Mexico?
*In Baton Rouge, Louisiana the locals have their very own unique version of the Romantic Language, a combination of Spanish/French, Creole/Cajun, some English, and the local Native American language, with a sprinkling of Chinese. So labeling the language is a toss-up; so whose to say what semantic, syntax, or grammatical errors were made.
Am I a smart azz, most definitely, if I was wrong, I apologize, but I seriously doubt I was. See, its all a matter of one's interpretation. I don't want to offend anyone, but know your stuff when you correct a person. Y, si es verdad, yo hablo espanol muy pequeno. That was my 3 years of school Spanish.
