HomeQ & AQuestionsEquivalent mg to mg... Question posted by waters_marsha on 20 April 2012 Last updated on 15 October 2020 by Jonigraitt5 Can anyone tell me the equivalent mg to mg comparison for Adderall and Vyvanse. Which would be better for severe ADHD, 50 mg Adderall or 70 mg Vyvanse? It was just the opposite with me when I took 30mg Adderall it made me very mean and it calls me to binge-eat they then put me on 15mg xr it had the same effect then they finally agreed to put me on Vyvanse which is what I requested in the first place. ( I had tried it previously before requested it from the doctor and it had helped me tremendously with concentration, my tiredness, motivation, Etc Granite it was a 30 mg and also a 70mg that I had tried) the doctor finally put me on 20 mg which was not enough so it had to be changed I am now on 60 mg which is been over a year-and-a-half. I think it all depends on how your body reacts to the different medications on which one is better for you. I know this is semi long my suggestion is to try them both because of insurance reasons honestly before they put you on an expensive medication they're going to have you try the Adderall first anyways 30mg of Vyvanse is equivalent to approximately 12mg of adderall. As far as which is better, they are both basically the same drug. The difference with Vyvanse is it converts into the amphetamine via your body's lysine, once it gets into your system... so it does take a little longer to work and supposedly it's not as easily abused. I personally prefer Adderall ir. My only reason being because Where I live
