It’s given at the beginning of treatment to produce a quick response in the body.Lower starting doses of Depakote and Depakote ER are given to reduce side effects. They’ll ultimately prescribe the smallest dosage that provides the desired effect.The Depakote ER maximum dose is the same as the maximum dose for the Depakote delayed-release (DR) forms.
