Absorbsion of it was better for some people. For people that has other meds to take it may be a better option to take levothyroxine at night. I am going to give it try and see if it makes a difference. I started having to take levothyroxine about a year and a half ago. I read so many conflicting arguments about when the best time was to take the medicine. As is reflected in this forum, some people swear by morning and others by bedtime. About the only thing that everyone seems to agree on is that it's most effective on an empty stomach. So I came up with the perfect solution for myself. I set my alarm every night for 4 a.m., wake up and take my levo, and then go right back to sleep until it's time to get up for the day. I never have to worry about what or how soon I ate before or what or how soon I will eat afterwards. And I'm consistent from day to day in when I take it. Problem solved :-) How long do you have to wait to take your thyroid medicine after you eat My endocronoligist is a world renowned dr, he runs a metabolic clinic for a top hospital (local). He has done his own studies with Thyroid Meds and has recommend night time- unless it keeps you up (sometimes a side effect if you start to border on hyper) I too have little kids and have a hard time getting my meds on a strict schedule- just make sure you follow the main concerns : empty stomach, no calcium within 3-5 hours and be careful taking it with other meds or vitamins. I take it in the middle of the night with a good size glass
